I DID IT. :D
And I rambled about the whole "I'VE MAINLY LIKED GIRLS GROUPS FOR MY WHOLE LIFE" thing on there too.
Just as a warning.

Hi Midori,Just to let you know that I did your survey & I had a lot of fun with it~!

My responses

http://shizuka-junko.livejournal.com/297610.html

There, my responses. Really had to raid my memory banks for some of the answers. XD Had fun with it.
[this is good]

I couldn't resist. .-. The last question made me have to fill this out.

I couldn't resist. .-. The last question made me have to fill this out.

Gender- Female.

Approximate age- 13-201.

What was the first pop song you remember liking?

There are several I remember liking around the same time. Barbie Girl (Aqua), Lollipop (Candyman) (Aqua), Spice Up Your Life (Spice Girls), Stop (Spice Girls), and The Ladyis A Vamp (Spice Girls). Though I wasn't allowed to listen to the last one for a while. (I was young when I got the CD, it had a curse word in it, etc. xD)

2. What bands/music groups/singers did you grow up listening to?

Aqua, Spice Girls, Back Street Boys, Britney Spears, Christina Augu (however it's spelled), N'Sync, The Beatles (not really pop, but..eh), various Brady Bunch singles, Davy Jones, The Partridge Family, Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Tina Turner, etc. etc. There are a lot more, including oldies groups/singers, and a huge slew of country groups/singers. (Am I allowed to count Disney/various musicals in here? o.o)

3. What bands/music groups/singers were popular when you grew up? (ie. Were on the radio a lot)

The same ones listed in the above question, minus the oldies groups. It's kind of sad actually. xD;

4. When (What year) did you first hear Jpop that you liked? What groups were popular?

I don't remember what year it was, but I heard my first Japanese song through anime. I had to of been in late middle school, or something around that time. I have no idea what groups were popular at the time.

5. What kind of Jpop/Jrock did you initially like?

The stuff I randomly found on YouTube, or heard as themes while watching anime. It really took me a while to understand the whole fandom and how to find stuff for myself, etc. xD;

6. Do you still like said kind of Jmusic?

Why, yes! Yes I do.

7. Do you still listen to the music in your native language (or some other language) as often as Jpop?

I do, but perhaps not as often. :)

8. If so, what other kind of music to you enjoy listening to?

English language pop, rock, oldies, country (some), Russian, French, Chinese (mainly Mandarin), Korean, Taiwan (mandarin/groups based in or from Taiwan) pop. (Various other genres scattered in for some of them.)

9. Do you go to concerts/performances of your favorite groups from your country? Do you go to ones for J-pop groups?

Sadly, no. ;-;

10. What do you think about the Jpop industry's future? Do you think that you'll continue to like it for another 5 years?

I dunno about industry stuff, but I'll probably still be around liking the music and everything just like I do now.

11. What's your favorite group?

H!P, probably. (I know it's not one group. xD)

12. Is your favorite song/single/album a Jpop one? (>o.o)> Is it from your favorite artist?

I don't really have one select favorite.

13. Do you like pop from outside of Japan, such as Hannah Montana?

I do, yes, including some Hannah Montana. xD

14. Do you like musicals? If so, what's your favorite, and one you really want to see? (This one is just to humor Midori)

I LOVE musicals. My favorite.. it changes, but at the moment, I'm crazy for CATS. I would love to see CATS live, or Beauty and The Beast, The Lion King (Most Disney Broadway musicals would be great to see, actually), or.. there are a lot, really. xD I'm not going to list them all. (As a side note, I would -lovelovelove- it if I ever got to see a show live with Angela Lansbury in it.)

Here's my blog post on this survey http://tezrasplayground.blogspot.com/2009/05/midori-survey-your-j-pop-and-other.html
